MoneySmarts is a free resource to students on the IU Bloomington campus with the single goal of helping students make informed financial decisions before, during, and after college. Their services range from online courses, individual consultations, and more.
They also provide individual help and consultations, as well as a plethora of financial courses regarding financial wellness, budgeting, savings, and financial aid.
Visit their webpage here for more information!
Utilize the MoneySmarts cost calculator to calculate your costs for the semester, based on how many credit hours you plan to take for a particular semester. The calculator factors in costs for fees, books and supplies, and more.
You can also include your fellowship award amount as reflected in your fellowship award offer in the cost calculator. Adding in your fellowship will assist in providing clarity on your out of pocket costs.
There is a very specific way to calculate MSHM costs. You will want to select "O'Neill SPEA Public and Environmental Affairs & Business Program" to ensure the correct MSHM rates are used. In addition, to estimate your costs, select that you will take 6 credits online, as your Kelley School of Business courses are online courses.
Please note that the MSHM program has additional course fees associated with required courses that are not be reflected in the cost calculator. Both the Healthcare Leadership course in the fall and the Capstone course in the spring will have a $200 course fee to support professional development and certifications that all students will receive as part of the program.
Additionally, an optional component of your MSHM program is a week-long course in Washington, D.C. over Spring Break in mid-March. If you choose to pursue this course, it is your responsibility to cover transportation to and from Washington, D.C. and lodging for the week. Some meals will be provided, but you should plan on paying for the majority of your meals for the week.

We highly recommend for all graduate students to submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) annually. The FAFSA considers students for federal financial aid opportunities, including Federal Direct Loans.
FAFSA
Submit by April 15 annually
It is important to note that all federal financial aid awards and loans are offered by the Office of Student Financial Assistance and Student Central, not MSHM program leadership. If you have any questions about federal financial aid or loans offered through the FAFSA, you would need to contact Student Central directly.
